Jr. Beekeepers

Our next class date will be posted soon.

This is a video from the Georgia Public Broadcast "Georgia Outdoors". The segment on the Jr. Beekeepers doesn't start until 4:50 into the program, but it will give you a great idea of what we do during our classes.

(If you have a large group please contact us for an alternate date)

Class run from 9:00am till 3:30pm, doors open at 8:30am. Registration includes breaks and lunch.

The class is open to children and young adults between the ages of 5 and 18. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

During the class we will cover the different cast of honey bees, where honey bees live, what honey bees do, and the life cycle of honey bees. These topics will be spread out during the day. We will also have workshops where the children can assemble a bee hive, learn to use a smoker, and most important going out into the bee yard and open a bee hive.
